Maintenance Update

Our friendly and hardworking Facilities and Operations Manager Luke Furno has worked diligently all summer to facilitate upgrades across St Ann’s College. The rooms and common spaces have undergone a host of updates, which was no small feat considering the busy summer accommodation program that was running simultaneously!

 

Major Projects include:

  • Barnes Air Conditioning upgrade – stage 1 completed
  • Common room new hardwearing floor installation
  • Height safety roof system upgrades
  • Dining room tables and chairs project completed (all new Victorian Ash Oak tables and refurbishment of 200 chairs)

Other various work undertaken by Luke and contractors include the installation of four additional CCTV cameras, repaint and repair (in Melbourne House, the Dean’s office, library and student rooms), carpet and window cleaning (in ED, Principal’s Flat, DRM and Wilcox hallway) and scheduled maintenance of the laundry, kitchen, pest control, test and tag, and our SALTO security system.

 

A host of new furniture can be found around the campus including double beds and linen in all KBED bedrooms, new couches in the common room, new chairs in the library, new office furniture and fresh couches, decor and a new door installed in the computer room (which is now being enjoyed by first year students in the photo here!).

 

St Ann’s Gardener and Groundsperson Phillip Agaciak has also been putting in the work in the gardens. There has been some major pruning and large gardening works undertaken, as well as green waste removal and a hefty mulching job of the rose garden and surrounding beds.

 

We hope the wider St Ann’s community will be able to make the time to visit and appreciate the wonderful work that Luke and Phil take on each week to keep the campus in brilliant condition.
