Spring 2024 Message from the St Ann’s College Foundation

On behalf of the Committee of the St Ann’s College Foundation, I wanted to take the opportunity through the first edition of this year’s Newsletter to wish the St Ann’s community (Students, Staff, Alumni and Supporters) every success for 2024.

The College enters the year in excellent shape under the guidance of Wendy Fleming and her expert team, and as usual there will be so much to look forward to academically and socially at St Ann’s.

Since its inception in 1986, the St Ann’s College Foundation has contributed over $6m to the capital works and scholarships that keep the College at the forefront of residential student accommodation in Adelaide.  This has only been achievable as a result of the broader St Ann’s community, through its generous donations and support of the many functions that the Foundation has hosted over that journey.

The College is continually looking to improve its offering to the students, and the Foundation has been an important contributor to these various projects for nearly 40 years.  In 2024, the College will undertake a major upgrade of the Wi-Fi system which is of course vital to the students in pursuit of their academic objectives.  The Foundation Committee and I are pleased to announce that we have resolved to support the capital expenditure for this project to the fullest extent of our financial ability this year.  The extent of that ability will in turn depend on the St Ann’s community’s support for our efforts in 2024.

So this year, the Foundation will provide you, as a valued member of the St Ann’s community, with the opportunity to support our work, by attending the Gala Dinner on Saturday 13th of July – keep the date free!  We are currently working on an exciting evening that will be held at the College and will include excellent food and wine, as well as an extremely entertaining and thought-provoking special guest speaker.

More details will be revealed, and invitations sent, well in advance of the evening.  But again, please block out July 13th in your diary for what will be a fantastic evening and your chance to support St Ann’s in 2024.

We will keep you in the loop as our plans progress, and please never hesitate to reach out to me or the staff at St Ann’s if you would like to discuss supporting the College in any way.

With warm regards,
Jason Turnbull
